I recently had the honour of being invited to do a guest spot at the Seijitsu Aikido Ryu Summer Camp, held at Tamworth on 7th September 2014.  This was my second visit to their Summer Camp, having been invited for the first time in 2012.  The original invite was extended through my good friend and student, Mark Fenn – who previously trained Aikido within the association.

It is extremely humbling to have such an opportunity extended, and it shows just how open minded this organisation is.  Headed by their chief instructor, Terry Bayliss – 8th Dan, I was given a very friendly welcome and after a brief introduction to what I intended to cover over the next hour or so.  The range of students varied in grades, with several black belts present.  Everyone was very respectful and keen to learn the principles and techniques myself and Mark were demonstrating.  It was a pleasure to see Pete Marsh – 7th Dan, who had welcomed me on my first visit.

The session was received very well and I was touched to be given a commemorative engraved glass plaque from Terry and the group. Afterwards we spoke with a number of the group regarding arranging some further BJJ and reality training – I look forward to training with the group again in the future.
